The logo saga continues

Submitted by MattLutze on November 14, 2008 - 11:16am.

Just a quick update for tracking my progress. We've done some more work with Illustrator and I've updated the logo further.

I'm trying to work more with the idea of movement, and integrated an arrow shape into the border line along the bottom, along with tying the line into the ".net". I added a gradient to the color in the lines to push the movement further, making the logo more active and enforcing the movement from left-to-right.

My understanding is that a major part of the criticism for the first copy I "turned in" was that it was too corporate. While the notion of a business-focused logo seems to leave a bad taste in my classmates' mouths, I am at some level pleased. One of my goals is to evoke the notions of permanence and professional focus. If it's being called "corporate," I'm on the right track.

Update:

I forgot to embed the new logo image. Here's a copy on ~ 50% gray.
